Volunteers tasks on this project will include:-
Renovation of school classrooms (Wall repair, floor repair and painting)
Garbage separation and composting: Working on garbage collection and separation as well creating demo sites for garbage disposal/separation and compositing site.
Working with Children/Teens: Volunteers will be responsible to organise after school activities for children and teenagers from the age of 7-18. This could be sports, arts, music, crafts, games and academic development.
Meals: Three meals will be provide each day at the accommodation including vegetarians. We will have kitchen volunteer responsible in meals preparations, however volunteers shall also be expected to help in meals preparation and dish washing.
Accommodation: At the communal house in the community. Rooms will be shared between 3-4 people, no bed but mattress on the floor (Comfortable enough). Water and electricity will be available. No washing machine available.
The project is organized in a way that provides opportunity for participants to utilize their free time by enjoying what the region offers in terms of cultural and natural attractions. Possibilities are Capital city sight seen, Kondoa Irangi rock painting, wild life safari, cultural-eco tourism among many other options.
It has been proved that, Children spend more time in School than home. Based on this fact, school environment need to be Child friendly. One of the factor which has been noted to be considered is environmental health and ecological sustainability of schools. The project is aiming to “catalyze and support ‘green’ actions by kids, teachers, parents, and policymakers” with the goals of eliminating toxic, using resources sustainable, creating green spaces and buildings, serving healthy food, and teaching stewardship.

What do you hope to learn and gain from this experience? How will you make advantage of this experience for the “next step” in your life?
Potential volunteer for this project is expected also to have:-

Departure date: The official end of the project will be on the 22nd November after farewell dinner. Official departure from the project accommodation facility is on the 23rd November 2019, before 09:00am. If you wish to stay longer you are advised reserve another accommodation early in advance.
Visas: Most citizens of different countries requires visa to enter Tanzania. Based on the previous experience we would like to advise you to apply for business visas. It is volunteers’ responsibility to make sure having right visas and travel documents. Business visas can be obtained at the Airport or any boarder entry when arriving Tanzania.
Invitation letter: Once volunteer is accepted, he/she will be issued an official invitation letter (IL) to join the project. This is very important document to support your visas process.
