Project activities: Participants of the project will join the selected members of the community to participate in following activities/ Components of the project.
Workshops: The workshops offer exciting new insights into leadership principles and practices will be presented by experienced leaders from various sectors that are skilled at translating principles and concepts into practical ideas and techniques. You will be exposed to cutting edge research into leadership, as well as into brain functioning and how leaders can best support and encourage your community, and will leave the workshops with the skills to implement improvements in your own leadership practice.
Workplace Project/Educational tour: Volunteers will have an opportunity to join the local community members (Those in the program) on their daily community work and share some practical realities. This will be in the sectors of local Government Management, Local community Schools, Businesses, Social and cultural activities. This activity will provide and give new and emerging leaders the opportunity to embed their learning and put their new knowledge into practice.
Community Service (Hands-on activities): Volunteers will work with community members on environmental cleaning, tree planting, renovation of public open spaces and community facilities.
Volunteers will be accommodated at the Youth hostel in the community. Get to ready to share a room with other volunteers. Water and electricity will be available. Our kitchen-volunteer staff will be available to prepare meals however, each volunteer will be required to help in meals preparation. Vegetarian meals will be available for the entire period of the project.
Magole is a semi-urban community located in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam City (about 30 km to the south). With a population of approximately 5,000 inhabitants the community is situated in a beautiful area surrounded by nature. UVIKIUTA Eco-Village activities are implemented in this area. Magole is accessible by both public and private transport, with most necessary social service facilities like health center, telecommunications, banking and shopping places. Possibilities for leisure activities are:-
Exploring Zanzibar’s historical, natural and cultural sites. These include museums, local markets, stone town etc. Enjoying wildlife and marine life. Jozani forest National Park, Blue Safari’s swimming tour to small islands, variety of water sports, spice tour among many other options.
Near Dar es Salaam possibilities could be: wildlife safari trips, marine excursions (Mingoyo Islands) eco and cultural tourism activities, Bagamoyo or Kilwa, Dar es Salaam tour (beach, museums, and markets).
Environmental Leadership is an Initiative that is expected to offer unique opportunity to develop the full potential and transform promising team into its next generation of ethical, engaged and empowering leaders. This project focuses on developing the talents and potential leadership skills of its participants in the context of their individual environment as well the community as a whole.
The project is expected to gather diverse team members interested on the topic to learn and share skills and knowledge on various aspects of environment. The end results are expected to contribute to the sustainable living. It is believed that, lack of knowledge and exposure have significantly increased lifestyles that cause more environmental and health damage for future generations to deal with.

Non-Tanzanian volunteers are required to have business visa in order to join this project. Visa is available online and can be also obtained at the airport or other boarder entry on arrival upon presentation of UVIKIUTA invitation letter.
