Werk

The volunteers will facilitate workshops and discussions on the preservation and protection of the site at schools and in the local community, and support exchanges with other stakeholders so as to create a stronger collaboration and enhance mobilisation for the site’s preservation and promotion. The volunteers will also partake in planting Mituba trees (Ficus Natalensis) which were used to make bark cloth for the decoration materials inside the tombs, along the park boundaries.

There will be grouped accommodation with option of sleeping in tents or school close to the site.

The Kasubi Tombs in Kampala, Uganda, is the site of the burial grounds for four kabakas (kings of Buganda), and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Latitude: 0° 19' 27.00" N Longitude: 32° 33' 7.19" E

Organisatie

Uganda Voluntary Development Association is a Non-governmental Organisation registered in Uganda Reg. No. S 5914/2246 dedicated to preserving, conserving and promoting our natural and cultural heritage by organizing international voluntary projects for people of all ages and backgrounds. UVDA also divest itself of all political or religious affiliations in its work of promoting peace and intercultural understanding through practical action and exchanges. UVDA was established to give voice and bring awareness to the society about environmental and cultural conservation by creating projects engaging national and international volunteers with the main goal of preserving and promoting Uganda’s heritage through voluntary action with a global perspective. UVDA is a full member of the Coordinating Committee of International Voluntary Services (CCIVS) and an associate member of the Jeuensse Musicale International (JMI) and Ethno Uganda brand holder.​
