During the northern Uganda insurgency in around 2000, Gulu City hosted large number of Internally Displaced Persons. While others have returned there remained a large population of urban dwellers who have just yet returned few years ago and some are unable to return to their original homestead and now live in decertified parts of the City. These are the ones who are prone to poor living conditions and there is need for sensitization which is productive.
UPA Gulu branch together with other voluntary service organizations has for a while been engaged in voluntary initiatives to address the issue affecting the communities especially the youth ranging from sanitation and hygiene, livelihoods, climate change, psychosocial support, water and sanitation, education and gender issues.

The international workcamp is therefore designed to improve on the youth recreation center in Gulu city. It highlights, responsibility, leadership, and practical initiatives for local councils, communities and citizens.

Aangezien je in dit project met kinderen gaat werken, stellen wij het verplicht om een VOG (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag) aan te vragen.
