To realize the above stated objective, volunteers are expected during the project to interact with children and teenager from the age of 6-14 years with the following activities: -

 Games: Indoor and outdoor games that will stimulate learning, team building and activeness. Local games will be introduced as well foreign ones from the volunteers. Please bring new games to share with Kids.

 Physical activities: Action jumping, Olympic Games etc.

 Gardening: Ornamental and vegetable planting, composting, garden tour etc.

 Nature activities: Bird watching, plant a tree, Tree feeder, learning about various plants, birds, animals, worms, and insects available in the area.

 Academic development: Holidays’ homework, various competitions aiming to motivate children’s academic development and get ready for the New Year studies.

 Accommodations: Volunteers will be accommodated at the community residential house. Mattresses will be provided in shared rooms.

 Meals: Food will be provided for free at the project site. Volunteers with special dietary requirements should inform us well in advance. Volunteers are expected to help in preparation of the meals and. Note: Food will not be provided outside designated project area.

Lolalash is an indigenous Maasai village located in Longido District in the Northern Tanzania. This community is one of very interesting spot location; in the south of the community about 0.5km is Rongai Forest and Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. In the North about 1km is boarder of Tanzania and Kenya. Inhabitants of this area are Maasai tribe which are very traditional in culture, and they depend on Pastoralism for livelihood.

Being in the Northern Tanzania known as the capital of cultural, natural and tourist attraction you will have a good number of options: -
 Cultural & Eco-tourism around indigenous Maasai communities.
 Hiking – there is a possibility of hiking in Kilimanjaro Mountain’s nature forest.
 Wild-life safari – Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Tarangire National parks.
 Mountain Climbing – Mount Kilimanjaro, Meru and others.
 Water side relaxation – Lake Chala, waterfalls etc.

In Tanzania private and public schools have a long holiday during the Month of December until early January. This is normally a most joyful moment. However, not all Children in the community enjoys the same due to social and economic challenges/limitations. In Partnership with local community, this project has been designed to offer an opportunity for children and teenagers from all social-economic backgrounds, ethnicity and religions to have time together during end of the year festivals. We are intending to plant the seed of peace and harmony with various groups in the community.

This project is suitable for a person who is open minded, flexible, ready to learn and adopt to other cultures, interested in physical/outdoor activities, children, Youth and with ability to work under less supervision and minimum resources.

 Non-Tanzanian volunteers are required to have business visa in order to join this project. Visa is available online https://immigration.go.tz/index.php/types-of-visa/business-visa.

 Invitation letter: Once volunteer is accepted, he/she will be issued an official invitation letter (IL) to join the project. This is very important document to support your business visa application as well answering some questions at the boarders when arriving in the country. Please make sure you have along with your travel documents.

Het inschrijfgeld voor dit project bedraagt € 345, exclusief € 50 korting voor studenten en jongeren onder de 18.
Let op: naast het inschrijfgeld betaal je ter plekke nog een lokale bijdrage van € 250.
