India | Landbouw
Samen met 9 andere vrijwilligers ga je voor 12 dagen naar een landbouwproject.
Het project duurt van 1 t/m 13 oktober.
Let op: naast het inschrijfgeld betaal je ter plekke nog een lokale bijdrage van € 220.
The volunteers will learn and practice local farming practices doing ploughing, sowing, soil working, watering plants, harvesting et. depending on season. This will be a fun as everything is done manually on small terraced fields on sloppy land and using traditional tools. The volunteers will also tend to fruit trees (Guava, Mango and Amla with onion and ginger) in RUCHI farm. The work may relate to mulching, removing weeds, pruning and preparing organic compost.
Volunteers will live in the RUCHI campus. All basic amenities will be available with library facilities. English WC will be available. Vegetarian food will be served. A cook will be there but volunteers are expected to help him in cooking and cleaning. Volunteer can learn Indian cuisine (cooking). Sleeping bag is required.
Bandh village. Ruchi campus is located near Bandh village. It is 30 km from Kalka and 60 km from Chandigarh. Bandh village is small and hilly located in interior mountainous area and the volunteers will have an unique opportunity to live with nature in a peaceful environment. Self organized city tours and excursions. Old Sikh and Hindu temples in the near vicinity can be visited. Nearby Kasauli town is another hill station as a tourist attraction.
