Helping local people to clean their house. Carrying damaged furniture out and scooping out mud from houses. Work might be varied and changed due to the needs of local people, so volunteers need to be flexible.
Shared rooms, separated by gender. Meals will be cooked by volunteers in turn.
All basic facilities are provided. There is Wi-Fi.
Location: The accommodation is in Mashiko town, Tochigi. But the working places will be 3 places in Utsunomiya city, Tochigi city, Nasukarasuyama city.
Other activity: Interaction with other members and also with local NGOs.
In October 2019, unexpected heavy rainfall in Eastern Japan brought big floods and landslides. The number of local volunteers who help the damaged area is decreasing. especially, the locals want volunteers on weekdays. So, NICE decided to organize this workcamp with local partner, Tochigi Conservation Corps (TCC) which is usually hosting Middle term volunteers in Tochigi.
Positive attitude to working hard, communication with Japanese local people
The participation fee is 10,000 JPY.
It will be used the foods and operating expenses of the local host organization. It will be charged at the project site in cash.
