Volunteers will mainly create poster (video, write up) for education reach out and decollate the activities hall and tutorial room and rearrange the materials in storage room. Vols. will also help their reaching out, advocate and any other on-site job, especially conducting some fun educational activities such as songs, arts, crafts, games, etc. with the children. But this is not a project with only children, vols. will meet with different group of people!
Volunteers will stay in MOVE accommodation and got to PT Foundation by train every working day. Meal will be provided. Sleeping bag is necessary.
The program center is located in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur.
Leisure : Visitation to the other community school around, local sports, visit around Kuala Lumpur city, and the cultural heritage of Malaysia, cultural exchange events.
The workcamp has been organized with Malaysian Organization of Volunteer Exchange (MOVE) for the first time in this place. MOVE is a workcamp NGO founded in 2006, but stopped activities for some years and NICE restarted co-organizing since 2017!
The 2nd Chance Program (previously known as Back to school program) is conducted by PT Foundation to improve the quality of life and well-being of the urban low income people as well as HIV infected and affected people. It provides psycho-social academic and welfare support to such community (children) in Klang Valley and surrounding area. The academic component is carried out through two services, Sunday tutoring sessions and one-to-one academic mentoring.
Bring along your expertise, such as singing, dancing, arts and craft and most important your caring heart to engage with these old people.
