Each child goes through different stages before adulthood. We call them biological, psychological and emotional changes that occur in human beings between birth and the conclusion of adolescence.
In the present context in Nepal, schools and families focus children on getting good grades in exams but are not focussing on the hidden talents or creativity to prepare them for the future.
In this project, we want children to be able to express their personalities freely, get encouraged to explore their own personality traits in order to get more self confident as well as learn different coping strategies when they face difficulties.
In today’s competitive world, traits such assertiveness, confidence, collaboration, open mindedness as well as creativity are key to success.
Our main objective is to enhance children’s development by offering creative methods of exploring personalities, creating friendships as well as improving their communication skills.
Your placement and activities:
Volunteers will work with children to help them develop their personal ways of thinking and expressing themselves. This includes organising activities that enhance their communication skills (such as public speaking, discussions, role plays), team building activities and exploring hobbies.
We also would like volunteers to teach children how to create their own ways of dealing with difficulties in a productive and positive way.
There will be one rest day in the middle of your work camp. If you’ve volunteering at a school, the Saturdays will be a rest day also.
Volunteers stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN.
