Mei Ho House is the only surviving Mark I H-shaped resettlement block built in 1954, the hostel provides rooms which are renovated from the original units. The hostel is equipped with nostaigic themed rooms, pet-friendly cafe and a heritage museum to introduce you to the district’s unique culture.
Participants will enjoy breakfast in the café every morning. Lunch and dinner will be arranged based on the location and activity of the day. Participants won't need to cook or wash dishes themselves.
Our camp is located right in the heart of Hong Kong, making it an excellent base for exploration. When participants have some free time, they can easily wander around the city. They'll get to see everyday life in local communities, marvel at the bright lights during nighttime, and maybe find some cool stuff in the shops. There's a lot to see and do, and this camp gives everyone a chance to experience the best of Hong Kong during their stay.
This project is actively working for SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 1 (No Poverty), organized together with the local charity and NGO partners of VolTra.
One of the main partner of this bootcamp is RunOurCity, the organizer of the Streetathon campaign. RunOurCity believes RUN can transform lives. They organise STREETATHONS, hong kong ladies run and other themed running events to nurture fun and compassionate running culture in Hong Kong. Since 2013, they have organized running events for almost 140,000 participants, and raised funds for over 30 charities.
Another significant partner of this programme is the SKH St. Joseph's Church & Social Centre. The centre was established in the early 1969 by the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui St. Joseph's Church , to provide services for the Ethnic Minorities, youths and their families of Kam Tin and Pat Heung district. In this bootcamp, they helped to connect the local farmers and the local Primary School “Tung Tak School” for the volunteer service experience.
