Maxéville is a town of 10.000 inhabitants, beside the city of Nancy in the region of Grand Est (just one hour and a half from Paris with high-speed train).
The Farm is an open urban infrastructure. The site combines new technologies and ancestral traditions. It is a place of exchanges where we cultivate fruits, vegetables and fish locally, all year long, in the city! It is a natural and relaxing place in which we feel welcomed and respected. It is a place for getting new ideas, learning and sharing. The project is based on the ethical need to go back to nature and use ancestral techniques that have proved to be useful and respect the Earth. It is worth knowing that sometimes, used methods can be questioned because they cannot be applied according to the situation . We want to keep moving forward, constantly improve our methods and adapt. Our purpose is to create an evolutionary infrastructure. The internal space is dedicated to aquaponics and to its management. The outside space is used for the creation of permaculture gardens. In the site, you will find a natural vegetable orchard, as well as an insect hotel, hives and bees which favor the expansion of biodiversity. The numerous trees, bushes and perennial plants on the farm keep the biodiversity in the plantations all year long. This enables to set a real sustainable ecosystem.
The international volunteers will work with 6 local volunteers during the camp.

Welcome to our Urban Oasis!
