Frankrijk | Cultuur en constructie
Samen met 13 andere vrijwilligers ga je voor 21 dagen naar een cultuur en constructieproject.
Het project duurt van 6 t/m 27 september.
The project is about encouraging the inhabitants of La Reole and those living in the neighboring towns to discover and re-discover this beautiful mansion-house. They are also invited to take part to the citizens’ agenda; restoring the monument and welcoming several public, participatory, spaces, within its walls. The mansion’s courtyard will have been enhanced in August within the framework of another Concordia workcamp, by doing a little cleaning up, arranging and decorating the site. A wooden structure will be disposed in the middle of this public space, allowing to host a reception area also dedicated to public presentations about the “Hotel Peysseguin” project. Four more workshops will host each a medieval profession. Discovery and educational activities will be offered in order to experiment one of these professions, in connection with the monument and its history; two Wednesdays, two Saturdays, two Sundays in a row. The subject of these workshops will be; medieval stone-cutting, tapestry, frameworks and cooking. In addition to co-animation activities along with art artisans, you will be granted with the opportunity to actively participate to the event’s promotion.
You will be accommodated in municipality-owned buildings that include a kitchen and a group room. You will share the collective chores and prepare the meals altogether. The group will share collective tasks, manage the budget along with the camp leaders, shop and prepare meals made of local healthy products as a team.
La Reole is located east of the department of Gironde, on the banks of the river Garonne, 62 km southeast of Bordeaux and 19 km east of Langon, 6 km away of the Lot-et-Garonne department, 20 km southeast of the city of Marmande. The largest part of the city is located on the right bank of the Garonne (northern part). The southern part of the city constitutes the hamlet of Rouergue. Apart from the richness of both built and artisanal heritages, you will enjoy concerts, festivities and cultural events such as “le chemin des arts”, dedicated to pop art and graffiti.
From the ironworker Blaise Charlut to the Saint Abbon monk, as well as Jean de la Reole, many historic figures will guide you through the ancient city, by passing though charming alleyways, washhouses and mansion-houses.
