Frankrijk | Restauratie
Samen met 14 andere vrijwilligers ga je voor 21 dagen naar een restauratieproject.
Het project duurt van 8 t/m 29 augustus.
This year, you will participate in the restoration of a park surrounding wall, in order to do that you shall use traditional masonry techniques. First you will repair the top of the wall and then you will be able to consolidate the structure by making new seals.
You will sleep near the local campsite, in two-person tents (please bring your sleeping mat). The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. The budget will be allocated to the group leader, shopping will be done together with him/her and you will participate in the preparation of dishes with products from the market and local producers (if possible).
Dinard (around 10 000 inhabitants) is a seaside resort located in the county of « Ille-et-Vilaine » (35). It has a very rich built heritage with several historical monuments and seaside luxurious villas, which makes it a very attractive place! On your free time, you will be able to enjoy the beach and the sea or go visiting the city. You can take a walk on the “sentier des douaniers”, one of the most famous and beautiful coastal path of France. Some interesting excursions are also available to discover the corsair city of Saint-Malo for example. You may enjoy leisure activities with the young people from the “Spot” as well.
Enjoy this beautiful seaside resort which is very popular in Brittany and stand up to restore its built heritage! Come to create friendly relationships with the locals and the young ones, who will welcome you to the youth center called the “Spot” to have a good time together! The Council of Dinard awaits you for its fifth international workcamp with Concordia.
You will have to bring warm clothes (trousers, sweater; socks, closed shoes, rain clothes) and light ones (skirt or shorts, t-shirt, open shoes) because weather can change very suddenly in Brittany. You can literally experience all four seasons in one day! Please also take with you working clothes, gloves and shoes in addition to your best swimsuit. Bring rubbers boots or some sort of shoes that allows you to work in the water! Bring a warm sleeping bag and an insulated camping mat as nights are sometimes fresh and wet. Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
