Samen met 14 andere vrijwilligers ga je voor 21 dagen naar een restauratieproject.
Het project duurt van 6 t/m 27 juli.
You’ll restore a room situated right below one of the village’s hall from the XVIIth century. This room will eventually become a public restroom: First, you will have to take care of the maintenance of the existing masonry. Then you’ll start to rebuild partition walls as well as an access ramp for disabled people. You’ll aslo restore one of the pillar of the hall by changing the damaged stones.
You will be accommodated in a tent, with access to the sports club's infrastructure (toilets, shower. kitchen, and a large living room). In shifts, you will participate in the preparation of meals and share the various chores (cleaning, groceries, etc.). We will the purchase of local and seasonal products as much as possible
Saint-Clar is a small dynamic village in the Gers, 30 minutes from Auch. A media library, a skatepark and about thirty sports and cultural associations, restaurants, local shops etc. will be at your disposal! The town is even planning several shows and events throughout the summer. Saint Clar is part of the Pays “Portes de Gascognes”, a territory very committed to cultural development so rest assure that you will have plenty of choices : concerts, exhibitions, walks, gourmet meals, night market with entertainment, festival “Les Cuivros Foliz, etc. Come to Saint-Clar and you’ll see the Gers in its best light! Come to discover the charming small village of Saint-Clar, with two large arcaded squares, its hall from the XIIIst century, its gardens nearby the old church or the old presbytery. You will enjoy nice walks in the narrow streets of the old Saint-Clar or around the village where you will be able to admire the beautiful surrounding countryside, with hills and skies of all colors. The town is also crossed by several small streams. The municipality has been committed to sustainable development for many years and is trying to reduce the energy needs of its inhabitants, buildings, economic activities, transports and leisure. The municipality understands the need to rethink their approach of collective actions by involving all the town’s actor, from the simple citizen to the elected representative. That’s how the idea of this first international workcamp has emerged!
Bring working clothes and shoes (waterproof if possible, in case of rain). Bring a warm sleeping bag and a good camping mat (for sleeping in the tent); nights can be chilly and wet. Tents will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Do not hesitate to bring activities from home, such as photos, games, musical instruments, food etc. And don’t forget your swimming suit; you may need it! Foreigners from the European Union must bring their personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and all participants must bring their insurance certificate. If health issues arise during the program, volunteers will need to cover all costs; they will be reimbursed upon their return to their home country.
