Frankrijk | Sociaal en cultuur
Samen met 14 andere vrijwilligers ga je voor 14 dagen naar een sociaal en cultuurproject.
Het project duurt van 10 t/m 24 augustus.
During the first days, you will participate in playful and participatory workshops, to discover tools of social theatre (forum theatre, improvisation, community theatre, etc.), to deepen your knowledges about diversity, and to collect inhabitants speeches. You will be accompanied by 2 camps-leaders. These workshops will allow you to create a play based on your experiences and the testimonies that you would have collected. Then, you will have the opportunity to perform to the inhabitants and discuss about the issue of diversity on a given territory. You don’t need to have done theatre before, to participate in the workcamp!
You will be accommodated in tents in the big garden of the House of Solidarity Economy (the “MES”) of Ramonville. The place includes green infrastructures and you’ll use solar-showers. Everyday we’ll have to bike for 40 minutes on the banks of the Canal du Midi to join the area where we’ll work. You will participate, in turn, in the preparation of meals and in the maintenance of the accommodation site (time schedule, household, shopping, etc.).
Toulouse is a big city in the south-west of France (the 4th biggest city of France). It’s called the “pink city” due to the pink colour of its brick buildings. Famous for its friendly atmosphere Toulouse is a great city to live in, but also a place of art and history, with an important architectural and artistically patrimony. Walks in the town, on the banks of the Canal du Midi or of the Garonne, parks and gardens, cultural events: there is something for everyone!
Theatre is a powerful tool for giving voice to those who are not heard, opening the door to meet people, exchanging and debating ideas. During this international workcamp, we’ll use social theatre tools to address the issue of cultural diversity in a popular area of Toulouse. Social theatre is a method of theatrical performance that allows bringing out the voice and the reflection around a subject chosen by a community. Here we’ll question the inhabitants and locals actors of the area.
You’ll bike between the living place and the working place (40 minutes two times a day, provided by Concordia). You have to know how to ride a bike! We ask you to write a motivation letter to confirm your registration to the workcamp.
Bring a sleeping mat, a warm sleeping bag, raining clothes and clothes for outdoor activities, a swimming suit and sport shoes. Also bring a biological soap or a shower gel and a biological shampoo. Do not hesitate to bring activities from home such as photos, games, musical instruments, etc.
