Frankrijk | Restauratie
This year, we would like to work on two different things: first, we will continue the renovation of the Cloister’s park surrounding wall and, secondly, we will start the renovation of a bridge inside the park (masonry and carpentry work).
You will be accommodated under tents with boys and girls separated. Lavatories will be available in the locker room. Collective life and cooking will take place at the leisure camp “les Cloitres”. Cleaning and cooking tasks will be done together. Bring a sleeping bag and a mat. You will experience a sustainable lifestyle within the camp (local organic food, composting, energy saving).
Chemille-Melay is a small city (8755 inhabitants) of the Maine-et-Loire County located between the cities of Cholet and Angers. It’s the head city of the Chemille district and offers a lot of services to the population: swimming pool, parks, playgrounds, cinema… You will have the opportunity to discover the region and participate in media creations “video, pictures, radio…” with the support of the Regional Numerical space of the Chemillois. Bathing, hiking, concerts and all the ideas you could propose will also be considered. More information about the project www.centresocial-chemille.asso.fr
This workcamp is the result of the cooperation between the town hall of Chemille-Melay, the social centre of Chemillois and Concordia. Now, the cloister’s park is a place where people come to wander. For three years, we have been organizing workcamps there to make the park more enjoyable for the inhabitants: renovation of a pond’s bank, of a surrounding wall…
Extra fee: 165 EUR
This project is French-speaking only. An intermediate level in French language is required to be part of it. A motivation letter in French is required. Bring suitable shoes, warm and waterproof clothes, a sleeping bag and a sleeping mat. Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
