Duitsland | Natuur
Samen met 14 andere vrijwilligers ga je voor 21 dagen naar een natuurproject.
Het project duurt van 11 augustus t/m 1 september.
In the boarder triangle France, Germany, Luxembourg and thus in the heart of Europe, you will find the small village of Trassem. With your help we will expand the different components of our nature station, the "Walderlebniszentrum Trassem" (more information on this website: www.wez-trassem.de). Our focus is on buidling an information stall and continue work on our natural stone walls. Together with young people from here, you will maintain the forest adventure trail as well as the freeride and mountain bike trails. If there is time left, the old "Kelterstation" (apple wine press) can be set up again. You will not only learn a lot about the forest and take part in many nature related activities, but also help to shape the new face of this place. We want to bring together young people from the Naturschutzverband (nature conservation association) and the Deutschen Waldjugend to work together again this year, which gives you an insight into the unique aspects of the region. The biggest city nearby is Trier, which is the oldest town in Germany. Trier was the imperial residence town, back in Roman Times and still carries the name "Rome of the North". As this project is a longterm project, you can take a look at the work of previous work camp participants: Thus far, a seminar building, a forest workshop, an outside barbecue place and various bits of the forest adventure trail (a forest classroom for example) have been built. You can leave your trails here too, in this years work camp. (Note: The work shop slogan is a quote by Vincent van Gogh, 1853-1890)
You will stay in the community centre of Trassem. You will cook together.
Trassem is close to the beautiful wine town Saarburg with its historic castle ruin and the scenic old town with waterfall. Saarburg has plenty free time activities to offer: There are cafés, an open-air swimming pool, a predatory bird park etc. You can also go canoeing on the Saar and climbing in the Saar valley. You can also make trips to Trier, Saarbrücken, Luxemburg or France.
If you love nature, you like it everywhere – Trassem
