Tolmin is situated on the southern rim of the Julian Alps, the largest settlement in the Upper Soča Valley close to the border with Italy. It is located on a terrace above the confluence of the Soča and Tolminka rivers, positioned beneath steep mountainous valleys.
Sajeta Creative Camp is a festival and a place of encounter for various artistic practices and experiences with music, which is its central component. Musicians that perform on the festival program come from different musical marginal countries and are less supported by mainstream media. The festival welcomes diverse musical genres such as electronic music, jazz, rock, ethnic or classical with experimentation and creativity at their core. Although music presents a large part of the programme, the spectrum of art forms at the festival is broader: film, multimedia, poetry, sculpture, performances, dance, and graphics among others have their place at the festival.
