The volunteers will organise a multicultural festival and take part in building, running, tidying as well as dismantling it after the festival has finished. The tasks will include all that is needed to build a festival and its area. The festival is fully organised by Finnish and international volunteer, we do all work on voluntary basis, by ourselves), that means preparing the area , building constructions, stages, putting up tents, painting and decorations, making all the signs, , cleaning, selling tickets etc. Be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Accommodation will be basic on mattresses on a local school hall. Some meals will be served, some meals will be cooked by volunteers.
Karjaa is a small town that has been merged with two others to form the town of Raseborg streching on the southwest coast of Finland. To the capital Helsinki is about 80 km, easy to be reached by train in about one hour and to the third biggest town of Finland, Turku, also about one hour by train.The town of Raseborg is small, some 30.000 inhabitants and located in a very beautiful, natural area with fields, forests and lakes. It is also the oldest cultural area of Finland, with some old very nice factory villages to visit. The area is strongly bilingual.
Faces Festival is a multicultural festival organised by a local cultural association. The festival gathers a large audience to enjoy music, dance and other cultural performances in beautiful Karjaa town.
The volunteers need travel insurance for the duration of their stay. Registration fee 50 euros
