Zet je in voor een groepsproject in België. Dit project vindt plaats van 1 t/m 13 juli en biedt ruimte aan 8 deelnemers in de leeftijd van 18 t/m 99 jaar. Als vrijwilliger zal je werkzaamheden gaan uitvoeren gericht op landbouw.

Mainly organic gardening.
Volunteers will participate to various tasks related to agroecology. They will work in a team with the trainees of the farm with the same working hours: 8 am until 16 pm
Activities will be diverse: soil and plant work, ergonomic and maintenance of tools, composting, mulching, green manure, sowing, transplanting, planting, fruit, red fruit, ponds, forestry, rotations and associations, plan of culture, fence, irrigation, greenhouses. Volunteers will also learn permaculture- organic methods and how to transform vegetable products (in the kitchen).

The volunteers will be accommodated in rooms of the farm.

Rixensart is a quiet charming little town located approximately 20 km from Brussels

The Farm of Insertion “Froidmont” is a nonprofit association of social economy and socio-professional integration. Since its creation in 2010, it has addressed three challenges our society is facing: the lack of jobs, social exclusion and separation, destruction of our natural environment. Through its various initiatives, the project trains and accompanies adults in a precarious situation to find a job and works for social inclusion and protection of the environment.
Its pedagogy is companionship and training through work. They train adults to become apprentice cook / waiter or gardener in organic farming. These trainings them to find a place in the society, to re-learn the right attitudes in the workplace and to regain self-confidence and in the eyes of others.

Have an interest in gardening activities and enjoy manual labor. The work can be quite physical and you must be motivated by working outdoors, regardless of the weather. It’s necessary to respect the working hours in order not to delay the whole group. To work in a team, the proposed working hours are the same as for the trainees (8h-16h). Additional free time will be offered to compensate.

Volunteers will eat everyday with the team and the trainees in the pedagogical restaurant La table de Froidmont that offers mainly VEGETARIAN food.
