Steek je handen uit de mouwen tijdens een tienerproject in Frankrijk. Dit project vindt plaats van 12 t/m 26 juli en biedt ruimte aan 15 deelnemers in de leeftijd van 15 t/m 17 jaar. Jouw werkzaamheden richten zich op constructie.

You will be painting and renovating their vegetable basket preparation room, it will have to be practical and nice for the staff. You will build wooden furniture and composting toilets. You will participate in the vegetables harvest, you will discover animal traction and make vegetable baskets for beneficiary purposes.

You will be staying in a collective accommodation in tents (2 volunteers per tent) in a football stadium with access to toilets and a bathroom in a local football club building. Meals will be taken outside; the group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. The budget will be allocated to the group leader and you will participate in the preparation of dishes with good products from the market and local producers. You will also receive some fresh products from Les Jardins de Contrat.

Montreuil-en-Touraine is a rural municipality located 15km north from Amboise, in Region Centre-Val de Loire. The territory is rich in its history with landscapes even registered at UNESCO. 2019 is the 500th anniversary of Leonardo Da Vincis death, therefore many Renaissance themed events will be organized. You will also discover famous monuments as the Royal Castle of Amboise and will take part in the local festivities: July 14th (French National Day) with music and fireworks, music festival Les Courant…
Leisure activities will be planned during the workcamp.

If you are interested in sustainable development, the vegetable market and local food networks this workcamp is perfect for you!
It is the 2nd year of Concordias partnership with the social center Charles Péguy and the collective city of Val d’Amboise.
You will take part in a project in a rural area in collaboration with Les Jardins de Contrat where you will help them to renovate and transform their vegetable basket preparation room and assist them with general market gardening activities.
Les Jardins de Contrat is a non-profit, social and environmentally responsible organization which helps integrating unemployed people into the labor market. The non-profit organization encourages people to find a job or to discover the professional world from a new perspective.
The local market gardening there is mostly done by using old farming and gardening methods.

You will be walking on a daily basis to go from the camp to the workcamp (4 km); two minibus will be available for food shopping and leisure activities.
Please bring gardening gloves, working shoes and working clothes. Remember to bring a sleeping-mat, a warm sleeping bag and warm clothes, the nights can be quite cold. Do not forget to bring rain clothes, sunscreen and swimming suits (no shorts for boys).
You can also bring board games, musical instrument or any other objects you want to share with the group.

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
