You will prepare the processes (scenario) within the video report and the questionnaire for the interviews. You will visit and travel to other departments to meet and interview volunteers and locals. Under the supervision of a technical expert you will work with audiovisual media and creation software.
You will be staying in a collective accommodation in a municipal gymnasium (dojo) with showers and toilets. The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together in the common space inside. The budget will be allocated to the group leader and you will participate in the preparation of dishes with good products from the market and local producers. You can also share recipes from your home country if you want.
Issoudun, located in the Berry region, in the Indre County, has a rich architectural heritage from the Middle-Ages trough the Renaissance. Such as the “Hospice Saint-Roch Museum” which is hosting one of the most important archeological museums on Celtic civilization of the region Centre. The “Boite a musique”, a modern music center, the multimedia library, the Albert Camus social center and artist’s residencies are also part of the local cultural life.
During the summer, the city organizes open-air concerts and leisure activities.
Since 2016, the sociocultural organization of the city of Issoudun and Concordia work together to organize international workcamps, develop international exchange and increase mobility.
This year, Concordia and its partners will organize a documentary about the international workcamps in the region Centre-Val de Loire. The aim is to interview volunteers and inhabitants to promote international exchanges to the youth and the general public. A long-term Volunteer will be involved in this project and will assist the camp leaders of international workcamp. A small group of young locals from Issoudun, within the “Youth Guaranty” program, will also participate in this international workcamp.
The workcamp will be in an urban area, no special equipment is required. You will travel around a lot to the different departments. Remember to bring a sleeping bag and good shoes. Bring clothing suitable for outdoor activities, sunscreen and swimsuits (no board short for boys).
You can also bring board games, musical instruments or other objects you want to share with the group.
Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
