You will responsibly intervene on the facade of the church using high quality and natural materials. You will need to peg the facade of the church to expose the masonry. It will be washed with a water jet before applying a coating to level the surface of the facade.
You will be accommodated in tents, with access to toilets, showers and a kitchen. In turns you will take part in the preparation of meals and the organisation of your daily life (scheduling, cleaning, shopping, etc.). We will encourage you to purchase local and seasonal products.
Montcabrier is a charming town in the Tarn region. You will discover its charming rural atmosphere with a very traditional market. You will have the opportunity to get to know the local population that will welcome you warmly, as usual for the people of southern France.
You will participate in an international workcamp organized by Concordia and the commune of Montcabrier, in the Tarn region. This July the municipality of Montcabrier wants to set up an international project on the renovation of the facade of their church, with the aim to create links between the local population, visitors and volunteers.
Consider taking clothes and shoes for work (also rainproof in case of rain). Since you will be staying in tents bring a warm sleeping bag and a good mattress as nights are sometimes cool and humid. If you want, you can bring your own tent. And remember to take a bathing suit in case we go swimming. Don’t hesitate to bring specialties from home such as photos, games, musical instruments, etc.
