You’ll work on the enhancement of local patrimony, in the surroundings of the village’s church. One of your tasks will be to work on the steps of the church to allow an easier access to the building by applying masonry techniques.
You’ll be accommodated in tents and you’ll have access to a kitchen inside a building nearby. You’ll share the different collective tasks and prepare meals together.
Picquigny is a small dynamic village alongside the river Somme and 18 kilometers away from Amiens. Le Mesge is a village of only 200 inhabitants at the bottom of the valley, close to Picquigny. Leisure activities such as canoeing, kayaking and rafting, all taking place in the water will be planned for you!
For several years now Concordia has been working together with the dynamic local Youth Center!
This year the young volunteers taking part in this international workcamp will work in the municipality of La Mesge and the group will be welcomed and hosted in Picquigny, a village nearby. You are already expected for the collective celebrations for the French National Day (14th of July), starting already on the evening of July 13th. In addition, together with the local youth and the people from the youth center you will go on a rafting trip. This will help you to bond with young locals and share common experiences.
Bring work clothes for the workcamp and closed shoes. For the accommodation in tents bring a sleeping bag and a sleeping mat. You can also bring specialties, photos, musical instruments etc. from your home country: whatever you love, find interesting and want to share with both local population and the group of international volunteers!
