Works with stone will await you in this region rich in quarries. The stones from there were used to build the monuments of Paris among other things!
You’ll be accommodated in tents, boys and girls separately. Common rooms as well as sanitary facilities and a dining room will be in the football stadium, next to the swimming pool. So don’t forget to bring your sleeping bag and your swimsuit (no bermuda shorts for boys)! You’ll share the different collective tasks and you’ll prepare meals together.
Nogent-sur-Oise is situated in the middle of the Oise department, close to Creil and Chantilly.
This is already the 10th workcamp organized in partnership with the municipality of Nogent-sur-Oise. This year, Concordia continues this collaboration by creating a workcamp that brings together young people of Nogent-sur-Oise as well as young people from different countries, particularly from Palestine due to the twinning of the city and the AIDA (Association of International Development Agencies). The overall aim is to improve their quality of life and to create lasting bonds between locals and internationals!
You’ll be integrated in the village’s common life and take part in the activities offered to the children of the leisure centers (e.g. common trips to the theme park Parc Asterix or to the sea).
Bring work clothes for the workcamp and closed shoes. For the accommodation in tents bring a sleeping bag and a sleeping mat. You can also bring specialties, photos, musical instruments etc. from your home country: whatever you love, find interesting and want to share with both locals and the group of international volunteers!
