The work is diverse: it will involve landscaping and masonry…You will also continue with the development of the “prisoner’s garden” and the walking paths around the castle’s ruins.
You will sleep in tents and will be able to use a building nearby for daily life (kitchen, showers…). Bring your sleeping bags. You will share the different collective tasks and prepare meals together.
Ham is located in the heart of the Region, 20 kilometers from St Quentin and Noyon.

The Castle of Ham, destroyed by the German army in 1917, has a wealthy and eventful history: it was used as a prison in the XIX century for the famous prisoner Louis Napoléon Bonaparte! The non-profit-organization Friends of Ham Castle organizes various actions to restore and promote the castle, such as flea markets, theatre performances, exhibitions and youth workcamps. This year and for the past 6 years, the non-profit organization wants to join Concordia and organize an international and intercultural workcamp with young people from Ham and from all over the world. Lots of activities are planned! One half of the group will consist of young locals and the other half of volunteers from all over the world. French will be the dominant language!
Think about bringing work clothes and closed shoes. Bring your own sleeping bag and a floor mat.
You can also bring special food from your home country as well as pictures, music instruments, anything you want to bring or share with the group or the local population!
