Spider web” is an environmental project that is based increasing awareness of environmental protection by creating mosaics from broken ceramics on the walls of the town using environmental themes such as global warming, water waste and recycling.
Creating mosaics to decorate and add color is an art technique that consists of joining pieces of a material to create an image. They can be made from pieces of glass, tile, tiles, ceramics, marble, slate, tiles, tiles, pebbles. The material on which you can make the mosaic can be cement, wood, metal, glass, etc. First, according to the material on which you make the mosaic, draw the design you want to create, extend the adhesive and place the pieces to finally cover the spaces with the grout.
The aim of the project is to work on the environmentel problems and increase awareness on the participants and also the locals of the town with the help of a creative tool. Participants will use this decoration technique to give some messages to that small town which has some conflicts about trashes and usage of water.
The activities will be based on the non-formal and informal educational working methods: workshops, courses, excursions, team activities, energizers, discussions, presentations and interviews of participants in the project.
The accomodation will be done in a local hostel in the town which has 8 rooms with bunk several bunk beds in it and separete bathrooms and showers for boys and girls. There is also a huge and well equipped kitchen in the buiding.
Braojos is a municipality of Spain belonging to the Community of Madrid. It is included in the area of influence of the port of Somosierra, traditional step of the so-called “Camino de Francia”, and in its term is also the port of Arcones. In 2017 it had a population of 200 inhabitants. 90 km away from Madrid and it takes approximately a bit more than 1 hour to reach it.
De Amicitia is an environmental non-profit, non-governmental organization registered in the Spanish National Associations. We are located in a rural mountainous area Sierra Norte, 80 km away from Madrid.
De Amicitia promotes and supports actions and activities that defend the environment, rural areas and volunteering, with a special focus on environmental law, less opportunities youngsters and the rural world. De Amicitia promotes the Aarhus Convention and gives legal advice on environmental issues, primarily available for NGOs and other private or public organizations that are also concerned with the protection of the natural environment.
The group leaders has to be over 18.
This project is a Youth Exchange, we only accept volunteers from France(ANEC), Finland(Allianssi), Germany (IBG), Italy (IBO), Spain (De Amicitia).
