In addition, volunteers will conduct digital media studies to promote this area locally, nationally and internationally.

Volunteers will be accommodated in the fully equipped student dormitories with rooms for 4,6 and 8 people. The volunteers will have the breakfast and the dinner in the dining hall of the dormitory and for the luch they will take lunch boxes. Meals will be prepared by the chef of the dormitory.

World Heritage Göbeklitepe is located 18 kilometers northeast of the city center of Şanlıurfa, close to Örencik Village. The site was discovered in 1963 during a survey conducted with the colleboration of Istanbul and Chicago Universities and was defined as the common “V52 Neolithic Settlement Site”. The real value of the site began to emerge after the excavations initiated in 1994. After these studies, it was understood that Göbeklitepe was a cult center extending to 12000 years ago. The archeological findings states that the place is the first religious temple of the history of humanity build with human hand labor, and this changed the known history of settlement. The inner walls of the buildings also have smaller columns. The mentioned scientific data about Göbeklitepe gives important information that requires re-evaluation of the theoretical framework and dating in the archaeological studies. It is understood that Göbeklitepe is a unique sanctuary for the Neolithic period with its location, dimensions, dating and monumentalism of its buildings. Since the area remained untouched in its natural environment for 12000 years, it gives important archaeological finds.

In their free time, volunteers will visit Sanliurfa City Centre, museums, cultural and natural beauties of Sanliurfa; and participate in workshops that the volunteers can benefit from socially.

We cooperate with the Museum of Sanliurfa. This year will be the first year of our cooperation. The supportive organizations are the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The working area is under the protection of Turkish Republic the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and on the UNESCO – World Heritage List. Due to the sensitive circumstances of the ares, the volunteers have to provide Motivation Letter, and Certificate of Good Conduct.
