Since its foundation, Kemaliye has had the characteristic of being a place where different cultures live together. The traces of this common culture are reflected in the details. The houses, which are formed by mulberry, walnut, sycamore, poplar trees and and located in thousand tons of green, offer the best examples of harmony between the natural environment and architecture. Deep in a valley between the canyons placed in a small and cute town in Kemaliye, the first thing that strikes your eyes is wooden houses and knockers on the doors of these houses. Kemaliye houses and doorknobs, which tell the history and sociological structure of Kemaliye, are the most prominent features of the city. The mountainous structure of Kemaliye provides a quite appropriate environment for nature sports. “International Nature Sports Festival” is organized every year in Kemaliye. Within the scope of the festival; outdoor sports such as windsurf, base-jumps are done, sportive rock climbing, river sports (canoe and rafting), lake sports (water skiing, rowing), mountain biking, trekking, and culture and art exhibitions are organized and all the nature and culture lovers visit Saklı Paradise, Kemaliye to watch them.
In addition, the mountainous terrain of Kemaliye allows many wild animals to live in the mountains, and mountain goats live in high cliffs. Kemaliye, nominated for the Cittaslow Network, which has members from tens of countries, maintains its traditional architecture to a large extent today, and has one of the largest canyons in the world. Endiçi Castle, Roman Cemetery, Pigan Ruins, Hasgel Remains, Arsanias Ruins, Topkapı Castle, Middle Mosque, Kadıgölü, Ala Cave, Ocak Village are places to visit.
