We need your help to build the festival and take it down, therefore you will work before and after the festival. The festival lasts from 16-18 August, where you will have the days off to enjoy it.
You will be part of a team of volunteers building the festival. It is manual work and it will be an advantage with knowledge on tools, but it is not required. Your tasks will change from day to day, where you might help set up a stage, build a bar or carry fences. A team leader will instruct you on what to do.
All volunteers on our production team meet at 10 am every day and work until 6 pm.
Our production team is unlike any other team in Alive Festival. Volunteers work together for a longer period and the spirit when building the festival is very cheery and exciting among the hard work. Many of our volunteers are recurring each year to help set up the festival and they know everything there is to know about Thy, Thisted and Alive Festival.
Volunteers bring their own tents, mattresses and sleeping bags
There will be toilets installed at the camping area and bath facilities, but it is also possible to use the bath and toilet in a building known as URT. In URT we have a common room. In the evening, when all work is done, you can stay in the common room if you want to play a board game or just to relax for a bit.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided on work days. During the festival, you will be given three food vouchers each day, which you can use in our main food stand to get a meal.
Our kitchen facilities will be preoccupied as soon as we start building the festival, so it will not be possible to cook for yourselves.
Alive Festival is located in Thisted, a small town in an area known for its national park essential for long walks and exploration. Not far from from Thisted, you will find The West Coast also known as Cold Hawaii, famous for its surfing facilities.
The beach, wild nature, and quaint towns are ideal for Summer vacations.
Alive Festival is a music festival set in a mix of urban and forest surroundings. The ambitious music line-up covers indie rock, pop, electro as well as world music with a strong focus on up-and-coming bands. The intimate settings guarantee a festival experience unlike others. You will eat food locally produced in Thy and craft beers brewed at Thisted’s brewery, Thisted Bryghus.
Nature meets culture in Thy, where Alive Festival each year is proud to announce new initiatives besides the festival. Previous years, guests and volunteers could enjoy Cold Hawaii’s surf school, a hike in the national park and visits to Thisted Bryghus.
Since 2009, the festival has developed from a small and locally known festival to an acclaimed festival welcoming 1500 guests and 350 volunteers.
Please note that the work is manual and requires a good physique.
A motivational letter is required.
We will advise you to bring warm clothes that are fit for outdoor work and might get dirty. Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather, so it is a good idea to bring rain clothes too.
English will be the only language spoken. All participants must be willing to speak English, even though being from the same country or having troubles with the English language. Try your best!
