You will work before the festival to assist the association in the preparation. You will be involved in the reopening of a hiking path and design walking and nature trails from Cledat. With maps, you will travel on the differents paths while maintaining and landscaping what is necessary: clearing, tree cutting, planning… Then, you will take part in the installation of signs.
You will sleep in tents with access to a kitchen and a bathroom that you will share with the other volunteers. Food will be provided and prepared by the group in turns.
Location: Grandsaigne (19300), 50 km from Tulle
Leisure: Activities on weekends and afternoons are collectively organised with the entire group. Enjoy the amazing natural environment and walk on the many nearby hiking paths! You will also enjoy the famous Viam Lake, a well known place by locals. Be aware, it will be a very isolated living place!
An abandoned village hidden in the woods, thatched roofs and old stones, a chapel, a rock for meditation… That is Cledat! This tiny hamlet, located in the middle of the Plate of Millevache was abandoned in 1963. A group of inhabitants involved in the cultural heritage preservation have recently rediscovered this place. For more than 20 years, they have been creating a magical and captivating place for hosting people. Here, there is no electricity, no running water, no crowds shuffling into lines…only the sound of nature and passionate people wishing to welcome you. Each year, the locals organize collective work in order to restore the roofs and the walls to their original state and to preserve the existing heritage. Meanwhile in July, the tiny village organises a nature festival during one week; hiking, meditation, songs, and crafts workshop are planned.
