Steek je handen uit de mouwen tijdens een tienerproject in Servië. Dit project vindt plaats van 17 t/m 28 augustus en biedt ruimte aan 16 deelnemers in de leeftijd van 15 t/m 17 jaar. Jouw werkzaamheden richten zich op natuur.

The aim of the project is to promote environmental protection. As the camp will be organized in Eco village, participants will learn about different ways to protect the nature, exchange practices used in their countries, and share it with local kids and youth.
Camp will promote environmental protection. Trough different workshops during the camp, participant will gain knowledge about nature protection. They will learn how to reduce pollution and be ecologically responsible citizens. Also, they will help organize some workshops on this topic for local children and youth.
During the camp, volunteers will help grow vegetables in the greenhouses, cut the grass, prepare the food, using fruits and vegetables they collect in Eco village.
Main activity will be to organize cooking events, where the volunteers will prepare meals with the locals, from locally grown fruits and vegetables, and also learn how to prepare local specialties.

Volunteers will be accommodated in Ecovillage in Draca. Ecovillage is household of Association Interactive, established in 2019. The aim of this place is to promote environment protection for kids, youth and others, to promote volunteering, camps, nonformal education, more sustainable way to grow vegetables without pesticides. The house has 4 rooms, 2 kitchens (inside and outside the house), place for tents, terrace, and 10 greenhouses for planting vegetables, toilets and showers inside and outside the house. Volunteers will sleep on beds in the rooms. Food will be prepared by hosts, with the support of volunteers.

Camp will be organized in Draca, village 8 km far from Kragujevac, in central Serbia. Village Draca is geographical centre of Serbia, there is Ethnographic museum and orthodox monastery from 17th century. In the village live about 800 residents. All programs will be organized in household in Draca, planned to be first Ecovillage in central Serbia. First programs of Ecovillage will be implemented in 2019. It is near to the regional road, there is one shop and bus station near the place.
Kragujevac is city in central Serbia. During 19th century it was capital of Serbia, and old military industrial centre. Today, there is car industrial centre of Serbia. There is about 200.000 residents. During the camp excursion and city tours will be organized.
In the free time, participants will learn how to grow plants, composting, prepare healthy meals, and spend time with local youth and kids from the village, by organizing workshops or just casually talking and sharing experiences between each other.

This workcamp is organized by the NGO “Interaktiv” from Kragujevac, the regional contact point for the promotion and organization of workcamps of Young Researchers of Serbia. The Association “Interaktiv” organizes workcamps since 2013. So far, ten camps were organized, with the participation of more than 70 foreign and 40 local volunteers. The association is engaged in the development of traffic safety of the children, environment protection, youth activism and volunteering in this region.

There are no special requirements, but it is preferably to know something about national costumes, dances, songs.
