The purpose of this workcamp is to participe in to recover, learn and participate. Recover old paths and the history of the Pyrenees, learn about culture and nature, and participate in both with diferent activities of preservation and conservation
The technical work of the project is the conservation of old paths in the Valley of Siarb and it consists on physical work: clearing paths, putting stones aside the way, rebuilding dry stone walls, improving the signals with paint and improving paths of the paved section.
In paralel, there are also ambiental activities about flora and fauna of the area.
Work day hours: 8:30am – 14:30h from Monday to Friday. There would be a break in the middle
of the morning to rest and make a snack. However, depending on weather conditions the
schedule can be modified.
Accommodatie en maaltijden
The accommodation is a terrain called Llavaners. Aprox 1000 m altitude near a small river. Isolated place inside the nature.
The volunteers are in charge to cook and to keep the area clean and safe: Volunteers will be splitted in gropus, each group will prepare the food for one day and they will be rotating everyday.
Locatie en vrije tijd
There are different possibilities of leisure activities the group can do in the area: movie forum in an adapted local in the village, cultural excursions, circuit of Geocaching and visits to the nearby villages. Also, the celebration of the major parties will be part of their free time. Other options of activites that the group can do in the area are the following examples:
•Visit to a medieval town.
•Visit to bunkers and trenches from Spanish Civil War.
•Rafting activity (40€/pax aprox)
•Hiking/trekking routes. There’s free flyers, maps and other information available.
Comfortable clothes for the technical work.
The work is suitable for everyone in normal physical condition.
