Pie Fourcha, a forgotten hamlet in the heart of a remarkable site that will welcome you for a stay placed under the sign of outdoor sports, personal development and citizenship.
The hamlet is located in the commune of Prads-Haute Bleone, in the Haute-Provence Geopark recognized by UNESCO for its exceptional heritage: natural, cultural, geological. In this territory rich in scents, flavours and colours, combining the Alps and Provence, the memory of the earth meets the memory of mankind. More than 1000 years old, the site of Pie Fourcha (1400m) suffered the rural exodus of the inter-war period. Placed both on the Routo (transhumance route of the past centuries) and within the Viapac (permanent exhibition of contemporary arts in the middle of nature), it is today crossed by hikers from all over the world.
It is within this framework that we offer you a TransHuman, coming to recharge your batteries while taking part in the restoration of this hamlet.
In order to revitalize the place, various actions and works are proposed:
1) You will be supervised by an expert to restore small parts of the old dry-stone village
2) Specialists in the local fauna and flora will accompany you in works around the protection of the local bee, the installation of fruit trees and small clearing works.
The aim is to make you better acquainted with the local cultural heritage.
Accommodatie en maaltijden
You will be a group of 10-12 volunteers in total, from all over the world. On the evening of arrival and the night before departure, you will be accommodated in a lodging in Le Vernet. Throughout the workcamp, you will be accommodated in 3/4 place tee-pee tents. On the occasion of the high mountain trip, one night is scheduled at 1800m in a refuge equipped with a dormitory (starry vault guaranteed!).
Meals for the whole stay will be taken on the site of Pie Fourcha. The 2 festive evenings will also take place at Le Vernet. At the initiative of the volunteers, thematic international dinners can be prepared on the site of Pie Fourcha.
Locatie en vrije tijd
The communes around Prads-Haute-Bleone and Le Vernet have less than 200 inhabitants. They are located in the Alpes de Haute-Provence at an altitude of 1300m.
The exceptional nature of the place makes it the perfect playground for hiking and other outdoor activities, favourable to relaxation and work on oneself. Two qualified sports instructors will accompany you throughout your stay, and more specific instructors for thematic hikes (meditation, mountain pastures, well-being). Moments of relaxation and recuperation (well-being massages) are offered.
Bring a hiking backpack, sleeping bag, working clothes, working and sports shoes, as well as warm clothing (nights can be cool), hat, bathing suit, mosquito repellent and sunscreen.
If you wish, you can bring musical instruments, recipes, games and/or specialities from your region or country.
As the site is remote, the telephone network and the 3-4G are not always available.
Moreover, as the meeting place is far from the workcamp, we ask the participants to make arrangements to be on time at the station of Digne.
