This Workcamp has two different types of work. In the first 2 weeks you will be in Dreiluetzow to support the LICHTERFEST. In the third week you will move to Berlin to be part of the jubilee event 100 YEARS OF WORKCAMPS – PEACE AND SOLIDARITY FOR THE FUTURE. At various times during the work camp you will discuss the goals and effects of work camps to prepare for the event in Berlin.

The main work during the camp will be the preparation of the light festival. The whole park around the castle will be lightened by candles and fire and at different places there will be theatre, music and installations. Preparation works have to be done, such as building up tents, carrying (heavy) things, playing music to practise for the event, painting signs and so on. Here we need your handicraft and creative ideas to prepare a little program as a part of the festival. The projects depend on the dynamics of the participants! If you play a musical instrument, it would be great if you bring it with you!

On 23rd August you will leave Dreiluetzow and move to Berlin.
On 24th and 25th you can have a look behind the scenes and support the preparations of the event. Different tasks need to be done, like making signs for better orientation of the participants, prepare documents and info-packs, while arrival welcoming and check-in. We kindly ask for being flexible, because all the tasks cannot be planned in detail.
On 26th you will participate in Workshops with all the other workcamps of the other German organisations. There you will discuss about international voluntary services and about the future of workcamps.
On 27th will be the main day with a public presentation of all the workcamps. Therefore you and your campleader will prepare something, which is completely up to you what kind of presentation it will be (picture gallery, short video, installation, song, performance…). In the evening we will also have a party and celebrate VJFs 30th birthday, as well!
