Werk

In the heart of the city and the ramparts, sits a forgotten wash house damaged by time. Take part in this project, bring back to life this place where a natural spring still flows and contribute to protect the living place of the frogs! In collaboration with the inhabitants of the town and the city hall, the work will serve to restore this washhouse, in particular by taking back the coping stones (i.e., the stones that make up the edge of the washhouse) that are damaged or missing. Small masonry work and repointing are also planned for various parts of the washhouse. The group will also have the mission to make this forgotten place known to the inhabitants you will meet throughout the workcamp.

Accommodatie en maaltijden

You will be hosted in individual tents near the stadium, with showers and toilets available for your stay. Nearby is the village hall, equipped with a kitchen, and set up as a living space for your visit. You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together.

Locatie en vrije tijd

The small town of Roye in the east of the Somme county is waiting for you to discover this region, its heritage and its natural spaces. On the program: discovery of the sports associations of the city (archery, water polo etc..), visit of Amiens and its cathedral as well as Compiegne or/and the castle of Pierrefonds!

Organisatie

After many years without hosting any projects, the municipality of Roye, which used to host the offices of our Concordia regional team, has decided to reconnect with volunteer workcamps. The municipality is keen to welcome young internationals in its town and prepares activities for you throughout the stay.

Vereisten

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues arise on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

Opmerkingen

Remember to bring work clothes for the work site as well as closed shoes. As you will sleep under a tent, remember to bring your sleeping bag as well as a sleeping mat for more comfort. Don't forget your bathing suit in case you go swimming. You can also bring specialties from your country, photos, musical instruments, in short what you like and want to share on this site, either with the local population or with the group!
