There will be a program for each day of the camp created by local coordinators with the help of volunteers. A 5-day English language camp for and 1089;hildren 6-9 years old will be held in Tallinn. A supervisor of the camp plans out the main program (theme, activities, excursions, etc.).Planning language activities and games (vocabulary varies depending on the theme of the day and the level of knowledge of the children), carrying out the scheduled activities, and participating in trips (free for volunteers) would be your responsibilities. The primary goal of the teacher is to offer children the opportunity of real communication, to expand their vocabulary, and to encourage them to speak English. The day-to-day activities in the camp are overseen by volunteers and a local project coordinator. The final day is Parents Day when the children have an English performance planned in advance with the teacher. You ll stay with the kids from 09 a.m. to 16.30 p.m. and then spend another hour planning the next day s activities. One teacher and two assistants will work altogether. There are approximately 20 students in total. Volunteers will work with about 10 children in a small group. Most of the children in the camp are Russian- speaking.The activities of the camp will be held in a learning center in the city s center. The timetable is:09.00.-11.45 English lessons in groups of 10 kids12.00-12.30- Lunch (for volunteers is free)12.45-16.30- Excursion, Activities around the City, Board games, Workshop

Accommodatie en maaltijden

Accommodation is on mattresses in the Optimum Semper school s classrooms or in the apartments in Tallinn city center. The school has a toilet. Sauna and a laundry facility is next to the accommodation. Breakfasts and dinner will be served at your lodging; lunches will be provided for the entire camp in the city center. Wi-Fi is available.

More information on http://www.tallinn.ee Leisure timeThere are many options for leisure activities because the camp will be held in Tallinn, Estonia s capital, which has attractions to suit every taste.TerminalAirport, harbour, bus station in Tallinn. We will organise transfer for the volunteers after their arrival to Tallinn, one day before children arrive to the camp that is to get to know each other and prepare things.


Estonian hobby school Optimum Semper was established in 2011 with the aim of providing additional high-quality education to local children using alternative teaching methods developed by the schoolteachers. A special emphasis is placed on languages, art, handicraft, acting and nature. The focus is on intercultural learning and integrating youth into a rapidly changing globalizing world. The school s students range in age from 4 to 16.Every summer, the school holds short English language camps to provide local young people with additional studies and real-world practice. To support this alternative learning process, international volunteers are welcome to join the project. As part of the program, participants will have the opportunity to teach English to kids and stay in the Estonian capital during the summer, enjoying the many attractions it has to offer. The theme of this summer camp is Enjoy the Adventure of Generosity


Special requirementsYou must be really motivated to work with children. The work demands commitment and it can be pretty hard sometimes. Along with the application form, please include a motivation letter. Previous working experience with children is a plus. Your ideas for children s activities, as well as the actual preparation for them, are critical. A good level of English is required. Knowledge of Russian language is welcome. Volunteers must be at least 20 years old. Participation feeWe ask participants to contribute 30 Euro towards the costs of general administration. This fee has to be paid by bank transfer before the beginning of the camp to the bank account.
