There have already been created many facilities and services, for instance, a garden with vegetables, herbs and flowers, a pottery with a furnace, workshops to work with wood and metal, a shop offering local home-made goods and vegetables, stables for horses, goats, sheep and geese as well as a bread bakery. However, there is still much to do: new raised beds are to be built and planted with seasonal vegetables and fruits and the insect hotel, also known as a bug hotel or insect house in the garden can also be renewed. The walls of the house and the wooden frame are also in need of renovation and should be urgently updated and plastered. There is plenty to do in the barn as well. The hay, which can no longer be used for feeding the animals, needs to be removed from the barn. In case of bad weather, many other renovation works can be carried out in the house.

The accommodation will be very, very basic, in a room with mattresses or a camp bed. As a compensation, volunteers can use a well-appointed kitchen, a very comfortable and homely living room and lots of space in the court outside. WiFi will be provided.

The Schollenhof is located in the Upper-Rhine lowlands between the Black Forest (“Schwarzwald”) and the bordering territory with France. From the yard one can see the black forest as a panorama. The area is very famous for its beautiful scenery and cherry tree flowers in the spring. You can see the place as an example of an inclusive stile of integrative pedagogics and work. In the leisure time the group is free to explore the region on bicycles. Trips to picturesque places of the Black Forest will also be organized. There will be visits organized to picturesque places in the Black Forest.

According to the current regulations, we can only accept volunteers, who are either fully vaccinated (2 to 3 shots of one of the following vaccines: BioNtech/Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca or Johnson&Johnson, Novavax) or recovered (date of infection must be max 180 days old). We will make tests in the beginning and during the workcamp.

Please bring a sleeping bag, an isolation sheet, work clothes and a warm sweater. You should be able to ride a bike. Moreover, people suffering from high fever (due to the allergy etc.) are not recommended to take part in the workcamp.
