Werk

Since 2019, a handful of people have been building the Blankenhorn Adventure & Culture Farm (hoblaho) on the edge of the Mecklenburg Lake District. A place with cultural, educational, agricultural and holiday accommodation and care offers is being created. During your workcamp you will support the farm in the holiday care for about 50 to 60 children and youths (6 to 15 years) from the region. For example, you will offer face painting, build and supervise a straw castle, accompany the farm animal times, make bows and arrows together with the children and teens, supervise the shooting at the archery range and much more. In addition, you can give the holiday care an international flair with games, songs and handicraft ideas from your home countries. With your ideas and your desire for creative activities, sports games, music and dance, you will make sure that these days are a great experience for you and the children and teens. If you are interested, you can help to look after the many animals before and after the holiday care. You can help feed the horses, alpacas and goats, muck out the stalls, milk the goats or make cheese for yourselves. Information about the Blankenhorn Adventure & Culture Farm can be find at https://hoblaho.com/ (unfortunately only in German). The workcamp is sponsored by the Janusz Korczak Foundation for Social Youth Work from Wittenberg. The chairman of the foundation will also be present to support you during the entire workcamp.

Accommodatie en maaltijden

You will live and work at Hof Blankenhorn, an adventure and cultural farm. In the associated accommodation, you will live in shared rooms and have access to a kitchen, a common room and a huge terrace for eating together. You will cook together. Money for food will be provided. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please state any intolerances during registration.

Locatie en vrije tijd

During leisure time, you can go to the Baltic Sea or Berlin for a long weekend. Or you can simply enjoy the great activities on the farm and in the surrounding area. The farm has a campfire site, hammocks, an archery range and lots of nature. You can also make trips by bike or to the narrow-gauge railway in the neighbouring village.
