You are involved in a project of the Bavarian state government's mountain forest offensive. The protective function of mountain forests against natural hazards is particularly important and future generations should also benefit from this. You will plant young firs, sycamores and beeches in particularly sensitive mountain forest areas so that a new generation of mixed forests can grow up. Therefore, you will also spend some days cutting small trees with a hand saw so that the better developed ones can grow well. You will be accompanied by experienced foresters from the Bavarian Forestry Administration. You will gain an insight into the interrelationships in the mountain forest ecosystem and the sustainable management of natural resources. You will be driven to the workplaces for about 15 to 30 minutes. The foresters will provide you with work tools and gloves. You must bring sturdy ankle-high mountain boots with a stable sole, rainwear and sun protection!!!

Accommodatie en maaltijden

You are accommodated in a mountain hut of the Forest Management. It is located in the middle of the forest between Benediktbeuern and Benediktenwand. There is NO electricity and water from a well in front of the door. You will cook your own meals together. You will plan the meals, go shopping for ingredients, cook and clean after yourselves.

Locatie en vrije tijd

You will be in the most popular holiday region of Bavaria! You can go on hiking trips or go swimming in the Kochel Lake. You can also take trip to Munich. More ideas: a trip to the Walchen Lake or stroll through the old town in Bad Tölz. Your supervisors are happy to offer a guided tour, where you can learn a lot about the topics of forest management, organization of forestry work in Bavaria, climate protection and protective forest.
