The work will be mainly manual and outdoor in all kinds of weather. You will help to restore a part of the Christian cemetery (forgotten First Republic graves) - cleaning paths and areas of graves, relocating tombstones, removing branches and basic landscaping. Please bring suitable shoes and clothes you can work in. Study part: You will learn a lot about Czech culture and nature. You can also visit the town of Ostrov and its sights - the castle garden, also known as the 8th wonder of the world, the local monument zone in the city centre, the Prince's Palace, Ostrov Castle, beautiful churches and monasteries. Or make a trip to the biggest spa complex in Europe – Karlovy Vary – and visit its historical centre and hot springs.

You will be accommodated in apartments in Mlýnský dům. There is a kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator, a bathroom and a small lounge. WIFI is available. Volunteers will help with the preparation of breakfasts and dinners, lunches will be provided. Bedsheets will be provided but bring your own towel, please.

Location: Hroznetin. The nearby towns are Ostrov (5 km distance) and Karlovy Vary (12 km). The region is popular among tourists for its beautiful countryside near the Ore Mountains. Leisure time: You can visit the neighbouring town of Ostrov and go bowling there, go on a hike to the gazebo in Hroznetin and have a barbecue there.

This weekend workcamp will take place in the small town of Hroznetin, at the foot of the picturesque Ore Mountains in cooperation with the Local Action Group Krušné Hory (Ore Mountains). This LAG focuses on the support and development of the region through organizing and funding educational and cultural projects, connecting various stakeholders, preparing tourist brochures or co-organizing volunteer activities such as cleaning the river Ohře. The aim of this workcamp is to restore the city's place of reverence – the forgotten Christian cemetery, activate the local community and introduce a piece of our land to foreigners. At this workcamp, you will actively contribute to the achievement of UN SDG11 Sustainable Cities and Communities.

Please keep in mind that the work will be outdoor and manual. Since this is a weekend workcamp, you will work in any weather, so bring a raincoat and rubber boots with you in case of rain.
