Making a stage (cutting, grinding, hammering, drilling and laying of wooden boards), preparing an obstacle course in the "forest playground" (designing the route, making wooden and rope obstacles), mowing meadows (using a brush cutter, raking, removal of woody plants). (overalls, gloves, sturdy shoes). Since most of the work will be outdoors, we recommend volunteers bring suitable clothes that can get dirty or damaged, proper shoes and a raincoat. Study part: A lecture on the local history of the tramp settlements, and a workshop on environmental activities using the J. Cornell methodology.

You will stay in a cottage that serves as the association's eco-centre. There are smaller rooms with showers and toilets in each room. Blankets and sheets are provided. The building has a kitchen, a common room and a dining room. Breakfast and lunch will be provided by the local host. You will cook dinners together as a group.

Location: The eco-centre is located in Hrabetice, which is part of the village called Janov nad Nisou. The village is located on the edge of the Jizera Mountains. Address of the accommodation: Janov nad Nisou ev.č. 1017, 46811 Janov nad Nisou, Česko GPS: 50.78577936702738, 15.179461248528696 Leisure time: Hiking trips to the Jizera Mountains (Hrabětice is considered one of the entry points to the mountains), scooter rental (there is a sports equipment rental nearby, where you can rent bikes/scooters for the whole day), board games, table tennis.

This workcamp is organized in cooperation with the Association for the Jizera Mountains operating in the Jizera Mountains since 1999. The association runs an eco-centre in the middle of the forest where they plant trees, restore tourist infrastructure and offer educational programs drawing children and adults into the adventure of exploring nature. Currently, they are setting up a new eco-centre in Hrabetice, part of the village of Janov nad Nisou. The aim of the workcamp is to help with the establishment of the new eco-centre and create better facilities for outdoor activities, to mow meadows and cut out woody plants around the eco-centre. At this workcamp, you will actively contribute to the achievement of UN SDG11 Sustainable Cities and Communities and UN SDG15 Life on Land.

Due to the limited outgoing resources of INEX-SDA, we kindly ask participants to contribute 10 EUR towards the costs of the general incoming administration of our workcamps. The fee will be collected upon arrival. Please note that this fee does not directly contribute to the workcamp budgets.
