Do you want to make yourself useful while discovering an exceptional site in the heart of nature? This project is for you!
During this camp you will work on the enhancing of an old lime kiln in an exceptional natural environment in the heart of the Cevennes National Park. You will be asked to create a pathway from the hiking trails to facilitate access to the lime kiln for visitors and hikers. You will also work on making the building safe by crystallising the base and installing a guardrail, even though the structure is still in good condition today.
Lime was once essential in everyday construction for craftsmen and inhabitants in rural areas and this is why the commune of Lanuejols wishes to highlight it. It is a very useful work for the inhabitants of this small village, which therefore wishes to make this type of work discoverable along a path on which tourists and visitors like to walk in the summer. Local festivals are organised during your stay, you will be able to meet the inhabitants and take part in a range of outdoor activities for your pleasure!
You will be staying at the municipal field where you will sleep in individual tents (bring your own sleeping bag and duvet) and live together in a municipal room provided for the group. You will have access to toilets, showers and a kitchen will be set up for you. You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the leaders and you will participate in the shopping and the preparation of the meals, favouring healthy and local products.

Lanuejols is a small municipality located in the heart of the Cevennes National Park, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for the cultural landscapes of Mediterranean agro-pastoralism. This municipality is located on the border between the departments of Lozere and Gard. This village is located near the Mont Aigoual where you will have the opportunity to admire the magnificent landscapes in the heart of an enchanting nature. You can also take advantage of leisure activities and outdoor activities.
Lanuejols is a small rural village that attracts tourists in the summer in search of nature, peace and quiet and a little freshness. This is a first project organised by Concordia with this town.
The elected representatives and inhabitants of this small village will be delighted to welcome you and make your stay a friendly and unforgettable one! You will be able to taste the very good local gastronomic products, go for a walk in the forest or even share a meal during a traditional festival with the inhabitants.
Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.”
Please bring gardening gloves, good shoes and working clothes. As the nights can be quite cold, remember also to bring warm clothes and a sleeping bag, as well as a sleeping mat.
You can also bring traditional recipes from your home country/region, a musical instrument and games, to share with the rest of the volunteers!
Let op: naast het inschrijfgeld betaal je ter plekke nog een lokale bijdrage van € 200.
