To provide a high standard of care to monkeys rescued from UK the pet trade, allowing them to live in groups with conspecifics and to improve their situations as much as possible.
Volunteers will be helping maintain the enclosures, preparing food for the monkeys. Learning to identify edible wild leaves and make enrichment items. Volunteers will also be helping with daily tasks and general daily tasks.
The volunteers will be working with a diverse team of volunteers from around the world and the local community.
Volunteers will receive extensive training on how to behave around monkeys and a generaal background regarding the UK Pet Trade and the impact of captivity on monkeys. There will also be training on how to provide the correct nutrition to the monkeys.
Volunteers will stay in dorms with up to 4 other people on site. The dorms are split in to male and female. Volunteers will have access to Showers, Hot Water and a Washing Machine.
Volunteers will also have access to a fully equipped kitchen. Food will be provided for three meals a day.
Looe is a picturesque fishing harbour situated in South East Cornwall, just 45 minutes from Plymouth. They are famous for our day-caught fish and wide sandy beach but there is lots more to discover.
Looe has a rich history such as the famous Looe Bridge that joins the East and West towns and hidden treasures including beautiful woodland and cobbled streets lined with independent boutiques and delicious restaurants.
The volunteers will be a 45 minute walk away from the town where there is an array of shops and leisure activities. The volunteers are nearby to beautiful beaches.
Wild Futures is a UK primate welfare and conservation charity rescuing, campaigning, educating and providing sanctuary to primates in need. We also support projects overseas, working to protect primates and habitats worldwide
Volunteers will need to bring a pair of shoes that are strong and will not break easily.
Volunteers will need to bring clothes they do not mind getting muddy and other clothes for days when the volunteers have relaxing days.
it is recommended that volunteers bring their own sleeping bag.
All Wild Futures need is enthusiasm, positivity and a person with a passion for animal welfare!
PLEASE NOTE: This is a vegetarian centre, all meals provided will be vegetarian. Volunteers need to be fit and healthy to carry out the work!

Jongeren onder 18 jaar moeten voor vertrek verplicht een training volgen. De kosten hiervoor zijn € 50 euro en worden apart in rekening gebracht.
Let op: naast het inschrijfgeld betaal je ter plekke nog een lokale bijdrage van £ 50. (Ca. € 57)
