Support the European School Hostel, an important place for youth work in the whole area of Franconia, by doing environmental and maintenance works! The barrier-free European School Hostel Bad Windsheim describes itself as a house of encounter with a focus on Europe, inclusion, age, heritage and culture for all age groups and school types. The uniqueness of the school hostel, which opened in 2013, is due to its location directly next to the open-air museum of the district of Middle Franconia. You will be working to take care and maintain the green areas around the regional school hostel and the town of Bad Windsheim. Your tasks will include:
• Painting and renovation works
• Renovating/taking care of the playground
• Manual works in the local kindergarden
Your group will stay in one of the three independent buildings of the school hostel. Even if it is called “hostel”, the place isn’t open to individual young people but is a place specifically built for school classes. There is the main building with a big dining hall and shared rooms and two more buildings with shared rooms. All are equipped with sanitary facilities (toilets and showers). In the main building there is also a chilling area for everyone to use.
Meals will be taken in the dining hall, with other school groups, which means that you will not have to cook. Please be aware that you will be in contact with more than 60 children or teenagers everyday! However, how much you interact with them in your free-time is up to you.
For your free time you will find perfect conditions on site: foosball, table tennis, billiard and plenty of outdoor activities like campfire, basketball, football and handball.
Bad Windsheim is a town 50 km from Nuremberg in Franconia, surrounded by beautiful landscapes. The city itself has a beautiful old town with many cafés, a open air museum and
a swimmingpool which you can use for free. The area is well known for cycling, hiking and other ways of outdoor activities like miniature golf. If you want you can also make excursions to bigger cities nearby like Würzburg or Nuremberg! As you will stay in European School Hostel, there will be many options to do some activities with the locals like playing darts or billards, use the outdoor sportsgrounds or barbecue area.
The town of Bad Windsheim is excited to host its first workcamp this year! After Covid the area of the European School Hostel and surrounding public spaces, like the local kindergarden are in urgent need of renovation. The European School Hostel hosts many school classes or youth associations, that come here for several days and run activities, seminars or trainings of their own. For the hostels’s team, is not only the support of international volunteers important, but they also share the aims of international volunteering and want to offer a nice opportunity to you. By participating in this project, you are supporting education on environmental issues (UN SDG 4 and 13).
COVID-regulations: On arrival you have to present an actual negative Antigen- oder PCR-Test.

Jongeren onder 18 jaar moeten voor vertrek verplicht een training volgen. De kosten hiervoor zijn € 50 euro en worden apart in rekening gebracht.
