You would like to create an even more beautiful living environment for elderly people and at the same time experience the beautiful Mecklenburg lake district right next to the Müritz.
Then help to beautify the grounds of the Immanuel Haus Ecktannen care home.
Together with other young people from all over the world, you will help the staff of the care home with various beautification tasks in the green spaces and at a courtyard, removing branches, bushes and weeds, demolishing and building new wooden fences, refurbishing park benches and building a firewood storage area.
Immanuel Haus Ecktannen is surrounded by a garden with old trees and is located directly on Lake Müritz in the small town of Waren (Müritz). Waren is in the heart of the very popular holiday region of the Mecklenburg Lake District. Haus Ecktannen consists of a nursing home for the elderly and a meeting place. The nursing home is a facility for the care and support of older people. In addition to full inpatient care with 60 places, flexible day care for up to 16 people is also offered. The meeting place is a place of encounter and integration and is primarily available to older people, people with disabilities and people in need of care, as well as child and youth welfare facilities.

You will sleep on the grounds of Immanuel Haus Ecktannen in a separate holidaymaker building in one room with 4, one with 6 and one with 8 beds, and you will have one floor to yourself. Sufficient showers and toilets, a kitchen for self-catering as well as a lounge and dining room are available.
Breakfast is provided. The rest of the time you prepare your own food. Money for the purchase of food will be provided. Please indicate any intolerances when registering.
Immanuel Haus Ecktannen is located directly on Lake Müritz and only a 20-minute walk from the centre of Waren (Müritz). A small lawn with bathing area, a terrace and table tennis tables invite you to linger and enjoy yourself directly at the house. In addition to the great location directly on the Müritz, Waren has a historic town centre with a beautiful harbour. You can rent boats, surfboards or SUPs there. There is a climbing park and Germany's largest aquarium landscape for native freshwater fish in the Müritzeum Nature Experience Centre. You can also ride a trolley or go on beautiful walks along the numerous lakes of the Müritz National Park.
The bus to the town centre only runs twice in the morning and twice in the evening. Therefore, two bicycles are available for grocery shopping. If you want to go to town with the whole group after work, you will have to walk at least in the afternoon.
On the long weekend off (Friday to Sunday), a trip to Berlin (130km) is worthwhile.

The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany.
