The adventure playground Holznagelhausen is a holiday offer of the municipality of Veitshöchheim. Together with other volunteers, you look after 200 children aged 7 to 13 on a large site in 14 groups for a fortnight. You will build wooden huts and offer sports and workshops (from football to baseball, from making pizzas in your own clay oven to handicrafts and adventure games). You will have a lot of fun together! You can contribute your ideas and skills, learn how to run a youth project, experience working in a big team, learn new languages and make lots of new friends
Shared room in the Friends-of-Nature House Am Kalten Brunnen. You cook together. Money for the food shopping is provided to you. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any allergies when registering.
In Veitshöchheim there is a very nice outdoor pool, boat trips on the Main and lots of nice people to meet. In 10 minutes by train, you can be in Würzburg with its beautiful sights (e.g. castle, Käppele, Residenz) as well as shopping, cinemas, cafés and nightlife. The surrounding area has a climbing garden, a leisure park, a go-kart track, youth clubs of all kinds, recreational areas, bicycle and skating paths. You can also visit the big cities of Nuremberg or Frankfurt at the weekend. So just come and have a look!
The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths. Our principles: Ecological learning, voluntary contribution, self-organisation, social development, intercultural learning, gender equality, anti-racism/anti-discrimination and political education.
