"Experiencing nature with all senses - creating together in nature".
Sensory perception is the root of every experience and forms the basis for all learning.
Therefore, we dedicate ourselves in this work camp to sensory perception and promotion and design for this purpose different sensory and experiential games and lay them out in the form of paths in nature.
We would like to encourage you to experience the elements with your hands and feet and to create a sensory path - with differentiated stimuli and the possibility of independent testing - a field of experience for the senses.
In this work camp you will work with ecological building materials and you can use your own creativity and skills to implement your ideas. Here you can get very close to nature and reflect on the basic elements of life in the sense of digital detox.
You will sleep in nature experience accommodations in the form of group accommodations. We offer two yurts and a large-area tepee. You will need to bring your own sleeping bag and sleeping mat.
You will cook and go food shopping for yourself. Money for grocery shopping will be provided. Please state any intolerances during registration.
The workcamp is located on the edge of the city and directly at a natural water channel.
The surrounding Havel lakes and Potsdam as an island and cultural capital, as well as it being close to Berlin allow many fun free time activities. Our camp offers canoes and bicycles to explore the numerous water and field landscapes and a unique natural landscape. In Potsdam, theaters, the Babelsberg film studios and extensive cultural events attract visitors and can be reached by water as well as by public transportation. To the center of Berlin it takes about 45 minutes by tram and S-Bahn (train).
The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths. Our principles: Ecological learning, voluntary contribution, self-organisation, social development, intercultural learning, gender equality, anti-racism/anti-discrimination and political education.

It is an advantage if you are physically fit and interested in nature. A few basic handicraft skills do not hurt either ;)
Also, this project is planned with the participation of young people from Potsdam.
Please note: There is a special Teenage Fee of 150€ for international volunteers who applied under 18 in this camp.

Jongeren onder 18 jaar moeten voor vertrek verplicht een training volgen. De kosten hiervoor zijn € 50 euro en worden apart in rekening gebracht.
