For the Football Camp to run smoothly, we very much rely on volunteers, who are interested in helping with different practicalities to make the Camp a positive and fun experience for its participants. Through your meaningful time and efforts, you will contribute to creating the framework, which helps empower the participants, develop their football skills, and bring them together towards their common passion for football.
The camp is especially good for you if you like to engage and work with people of different ages and are interested in improving your teamwork and problem-solving skills due to the quickly changing work environment.
This Work Camp is held during the Dana Cup, and there are therefore plenty of work tasks that will ensure the event will run smoothly. In this regard, there will be a rotation between the different tasks to make the days vary for all volunteers. This includes the establishment of an event area, catering for 20.000 football players, as well as practical tasks such as painting accommodation cabins and maintaining outdoor areas.
During the two weeks of Work Camp, you are also going to assist with general support and logistics before the tournament begins, maintenance of outdoor- and indoor areas, cleaning, kitchen assistance, event creations, and reparation of dormitories in Dana Cup Town.
The work is expected to be arranged in two shifts from 08:00-21:00.

During your two weeks stay in Northern Jutland, you will have time to explore some unique nature and charming towns with its different attractions in Denmark.
For instance, you can arrange a day trip to Skagen, which is the most Northern tip of Denmark where the two oceans meet. Skagen is especially famous for its special light, which has attracted many painters, yellow and red houses, art galleries, delicious seafood, and much more. You can also take a day trip to Hjørring or Aalborg, the third biggest city in Denmark, where you find a large variety of shopping opportunities while enjoying the cosy atmosphere in the iconic and old streets of Aalborg. Furthermore, one of the neighbouring towns is called Hirtshals and it has the biggest Aquarium in Northern Europe. In Northern Jutland, you can also make a day trip to one of the biggest summer amusement parks in Denmark, named Fårup.
Your Work Camp leaders will help you and the group with organizing these activities in your spare time. It is free to enjoy the beautiful nature of Northern Jutland, but some activities such as museums, galleries, and amusement parks might require an extra charge. The host will not cover additional charges.
Dana Cup is run by a non-profit organization, and the event is one of the world's largest international youth soccer tournaments.
Every year, in the last week of July, the soccer tournament brings together around 20.000 young people between 12-19 years old and their coaches. They come to Hjørring in the northern part of Denmark from 45 different nations, representing 1000 football teams.
Dana Cup Week brings a great party in Hjørring and the atmosphere is amazing! It is the fourth Work Camp at this huge sports event, and it was a wonderful experience in 2018, 2019 and 2022. They are very existed for another camp in 2023.
Please read more about the event on their website: http://www.danacup.com.
We have no more COVID19 restrictions in Denmark. This basically means that our everyday lives are back to normal, with no masks, assembly bans and test requirements. There are still a few restrictions on entry into the country, but if you are vaccinated or recently infected, then there are currently no isolation or test requirements. Be aware, that airlines might have requirements regarding COVID-19. Though our restrictions are gone, we know that COVID19 is still a problem worldwide. We want to assure you, that you will be safe at the camps, personal boundaries will be respected, tests are still an option for no extra cost and you can wear a mask if you wish.
We will of course also inform you of any changes.
Unfortunately, the job involves some physical work and therefore we cannot offer any work to volunteers with disabilities. Participants must be willing to do manual work, a work that is for the most part outdoors.
Language:
English will be the only language spoken. All participants must be willing to speak English, even though being from the same country or have trouble with the English language. Try your best!
Transport to work:
You will stay in tents nearby the Dana Football Cup, and therefore, no transport is needed for going to your workplace.
