Work: Studio Alta recently moved to a new location so you will help with the cleaning and beautifying of the interior and exterior of the new premises. Work gloves and tools will be provided. Bring some comfortable working clothes which can get dirty or damaged. The work is not physically demanding or complicated, but any DIY skills are welcome.
Study part: Look behind the scenes and learn what is necessary to run a theatre, studios and the entire com-munity centre. In case of interest, we can organize a movement lesson with ALTA dancers or a guided tour around Prague.
Accommodation/Food: Accommodation will be provided in the Studio Alta rehearsal room directly in the building of the former brewery. You will need your own mat, sleeping bag and pillow. There is a toilet and a shower, bring your own towel. Wifi is available. You will prepare meals together as a group.
Location: Prague-Karlin is an attractive part of Prague situated on the bank of the river Vltava which flows through the whole city. Karlin is a developing (and, unfortunately, also a gentrified) metropolitan area, where there are many cultural organizations, cafes and bars. Near ALTA there are also many places suitable for nice walks. Located close to the main train station, Studio ALTA offers a train trip.
Leisure time: You can explore Prague, stroll along the Vltava river, and visit the Pod Palmovkou theatre or Svetova 1 gallery, just a few stops by tram there is the Karlin district where you can also go to a theatre, or cinema or visit a concert in Kasarna Karlin (former barracks).
This project is organised in cooperation with Studio ALTA, a multicultural and creative hub focused on contemporary dance and theatre. The artistic program of Studio ALTA emphasizes courageous and innovative pieces that encourage engagement, creativity, sharing, and open-minded and constructive dialogue. The theatre is closed during summer, so you can have a look behind the curtain and see what ordinary visitors cannot. The aim of the project is to help with installing a new seat for Alta. In this project, you are actively working for the UN SDG11 Sustainable cities and communities.

This project is mainly for people who are interested in culture and arts, who like to explore and like (independent) cultural space. We welcome responsible, skilful and independent people, who can sensitively combine work and fun. We prefer communicative and courageous people who can easily fit into new environ-ments and collectives.

Jongeren onder 18 jaar moeten voor vertrek verplicht een training volgen. De kosten hiervoor zijn € 50 euro en worden apart in rekening gebracht.
Let op: naast het inschrijfgeld betaal je ter plekke nog een lokale bijdrage van € 10.
